Portal Fees

The site is charging a "Portal Fee" of $2.25 per transaction. Effective July 1, 2010 - For instance, someone logs on and pays three tickets for a total of $45 their transaction total will be $47.25 with $45 showing as parking tickets and $2.25 showing as the service provider's PORTAL FEE. Of course, the constituent will be able to authorize or opt out.

The fee does not come to City of Portland; it stays with the third party provider, InforME, which administers Portland's parking ticket site. In this age of tight budgets the city elected to pass this cost along to site users rather than fund it as a broad general tax base cost to all taxpayers. We trust you'll understand the logic of the Council decision as part of Fiscal 2011 budget adoption.
