Prior to applying for permits to modify and/or construct new space for your business, here are some direct sources of assistance.
For questions that relate to building code requirements, a Plan Review Meeting with a City building code reviewer can be scheduled by emailing email@example.com or calling 874-8703. These are generally half hour meetings held Mondays and Wednesdays between 1:00 and 3:00 PM, and Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8:00 and 10:00 AM. If you have questions about fire code requirements, for a phone conversation or an in-person meeting with a City fire inspector contact 874-8400.
A Pre-Application Meeting is an option if you are in the early stages of planning your project and have a wide range of questions. City staff attending this meeting will include individuals from each department that will have some review authority over your project (for example, zoning, licensing, planning, historic preservation, public works, fire, and inspections/permitting). These half hour meetings are held on Wednesdays between 12:00 and 1:00 PM.
