Deering Street Sewer Separation Project Public Notice

The Department of Public Works would like to update you on the status and activities regarding the above referenced project. As a reminder, this project will separate the existing combined sewer in the street into a separate sanitary sewer and a separate stormwater drain. This project is related to the City’s Clean Water Act compliance goals.

It has been identified that a sewer lateral was missed during the initial installation of the sewer this past June. It was initially thought that the sewer lateral to #21 exited out the back of the building. The majority of the building does connect in this way. However, a basement apartment remains connected to Deering Street. R.E. Coleman will be bringing equipment back to the site to connect this sewer lateral. This construction activity should begin on Wednesday, January 25th (weather permitting) and take several days.

The construction activities associated with the sidewalk will continue until complete.

Mr. Dylan Stuart of Sebago Technics is the City’s Inspector and is onsite periodically.

If you have other questions about the project, please feel free to contact Brad Roland, Project Engineer,  at 874-8846 or catch Dylan onsite during the day.
