City Receives Additional $150,000 in CDBG Funds

City Manager Jon Jennings is pleased to announce that the City received $150,457 in additional Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) federal funding than it expected for FY19. Per Council action from April 18, the City is increasing the following items proportionally:


Planning & Administration: +$30,091 (total of $394,184)

Development Activities:

  • Preble Street Corridor:  +$70,715 (total of $369,515)

Social Services:
  • Catherine Morrill - Childcare Vouchers: +$8,460 (total of $68,460)

  • City Of Portland - Mobile Medical Outreach: +$4,128 (total of $33,408)

  • Amistad and Portland Downtown -  Peer Outreach Worker: +$6,345 (total of $51,345)

  • Catholic Charities & ILAP- Legal Services: +$6,345 (total of $51,345)

  • Milestone HOME team: +$14,000 (total of $114,000)

  • Preble Street Resource Center: +$3,167 (total of $25,667)

  • City Of Portland - Housing Services for Long Term Stayers: +$7,205 (total of $58,671)

“I’m pleased to be able to pass on these funds that we ended up receiving this year in order to provide additional funding for these worthy projects and programs,” said City Manager Jon Jennings. “It’s not likely that we’ll continue to receive additional funds each year, but for now I’m glad that we’re able to increase these seven programs by 14%.”
