Franklin Street Pump Station Improvement Project update

Site Logistics Plan (C-101) 2019.02.13 DRAFT REV

The Water Resources Division of the Department of Public Works, is rebuilding Franklin St Pump Station as part of the City’s Consent Decree with Maine DEP and USEPA. During the design development phase of the project hazardous materials were found in some of the building materials used in construction. It is not unusual to find these types of hazardous materials in construction from the early 1960’s. Woodard & Curran, our Water Resources design-build contractor is engaging subcontractors certified in the removal and disposal of these hazardous materials, per Maine DEP and USEPA regulations. The work will be monitored and managed properly to prevent any danger to the public and the environment. All the hazardous materials removed from Franklin Street Pump Station will be taken to Maine DEP approved disposal facilities.

To help manage construction and protect the public and environment, the site will be enclosed with a 6 foot tall fence. The bike trail will be open.
