[ARCHIVED] Project Update. Washington Ave. Paving and Traffic Signal Project

crosswalk road work

Shaw Brothers Construction, Inc. of Gorham Maine, a City paving contractor, is planning to complete work on this project on Washington Avenue between Ray Street and Ocean Avenue between April 15, 2019 and July 12, 2019. Some prep work has already begun March 18, 2019, but there should be minimal impacts until full construction begins in April. Be advised that work is subject to change due to weather. Most work will be done on day shifts between 7 AM and 7 PM.  There will be certain times that night work will take place; exact dates and times for this work will be distributed on a later project update once those dates are confirmed.

Washington Avenue between Ray Street and Ocean Avenue, will be posted “EMERGENCY NO PARKING” on the dates listed above from 6 AM to 7 PM. Vehicles parked in the paving work zone, in violation of the EMERGENCY NO PARKING signs, will be subject to towing.

Shaw Brothers Construction will maintain normal traffic flow patterns to the extent practical during construction. Shaw Brothers will use flaggers and police officers to facilitate one way and two way traffic flow when necessary.
