part-time, contract position with benefits – 32 hrs/wk – The Healthcare for the Homeless Clinic is seeking a part-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide medication management and psychiatric services in an integrated outpatient primary care clinic. The Healthcare for the Homeless Clinic is part of the Portland Community Health Center and provides primary care to approximately 3,000 homeless residents of Greater Portland. Experience working with underserved populations and substance abuse is desirable. Candidates must be certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and maintain Maine state licensure. Loan repayment is an option via the National Health Service Corps.

Summer Track and Field

(1) Assistant Track Coach – June 24 to August 10 - 10–12 hrs/week. Schedule is Monday and Tuesday practices, 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Thursday track meets at 2:00 p.m. Significant knowledge of track and field; coaching and teaching skills; knowledge of Hy-Tek meet manager software; knowledge of USA Track and Field rules and policies; experience driving 15 passenger activity bus is desirable. Previous experience working with children ages 7 – 14 years. Successful candidates will be subject to a criminal conviction background check and must possess a valid class C State of Maine driver’s license and have a clean driving record. $10.00 - $13.00/hr. depending upon experience. Telecommunicator (911 Dispatcher)
Police-
This is a critical position in Portland's Emergency Communications Center. The Communications Center provides 24-hour emergency/non-emergency dispatch services for Police, Fire and Emergency Medical services. The normal duties of this position include but are not limited to: work 8 or 12 hour shifts, to cover 24-hours a day 7 days a week, including holidays and weekends; communicates with police and fire units by radio; answers both emergency (911) and non-emergency telephones; provide Emergency Medical instructions over the phone for emergency medical situations; input data into computer regarding stolen property, vehicles, and guns; enter missing and wanted persons in state, local and national computer systems; other related duties as required. This is a fast-paced team environment that requires the following qualifications: graduation from high school or any equivalent combination of experience and training; ability to work with advanced computer-aided dispatching technology; capacity to act quickly, calmly and correctly in emergency situations; must be able to use tact and diplomacy in stressful situations; availability to work all shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays; strong listening, memory and multi-tasking skills; accurate typing skills; solid customer service skills. Police background check and polygraph required. Must be able to obtain Maine Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification (EMD) and Maine Certified Terminal Operator Certification within 6 months of employment. $666.40/wk plus night shift differential when applicable. full-time – 37.5 hrs/wk - work schedule is Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm. Provides technical/administrative office assistance to the Social Services Division Administrator and Division Management Team. Technical/administrative duties include compilation of data for public reports, creation of forms and statistical documentation, maintaining electronic databases, taking minutes at community meetings, assisting with web-based grant reporting/applications and other complex duties. Requirements of Work: Considerable experience in responsible clerical and secretarial work, graduation from high school, including or supplemented by courses in secretarial science or business subjects; or any equivalent of experience and training which provides the following knowledge, abilities and skills: thorough knowledge of business English, spelling arithmetic, and vocabulary and knowledge of modern office equipment, practices and procedures; thorough knowledge of department operations and organization or the ability to acquire such knowledge during the training period; ability to compose and prepare effective correspondence; ability to make independent decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures; ability to learn and use specialized language and technical terms; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public and to deal with public relations inquiries courteously and tactfully; ability to maintain highly confidential information; extensive computer experience including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); extensive data analysis experience including data compilation and expertise in the creation of different types of charts/graphs; extensive grant-related work (both web-based and non web-based). Starting salary range: $557 - $652/wk.

Assistant Engineer
Public Services-
Environmental Programs - This is a combination of field and office work supporting various Clean Water Act Programs and sewer and stormwater system management. Responsibilities include day-to-day activities of the City’s Industrial Pretreatment and Stormwater Management Programs, and assisting with sewer and stormwater billing and fee systems. Carries out project scoping, estimating, and design, including preparation of plans and specifications for general municipal public works projects (storm and sanitary sewer systems, transportation projects, street and sidewalk projects, and building and office projects). Work involves maintaining a working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations that affect current programs and projects, monitoring construction of municipal public works projects, inspections of facilities and field conditions, and review of development plans to predict infrastructure system impacts. Requires extensive knowledge of civil engineering practices, ability to perform complex assignments under a minimum of supervision, ability to operate personal computers and utilize contemporary engineering related software, and excellent communication and customer service skills. Must possess a valid State of Maine Class C driver’s license (must provide license number on application) and maintain clean driving record. Prior supervisory experience helpful. $811 - $913/wk plus 3% for Engineer-in-Training certification.

General cleaning duties to include damp dusting, dry/wet mopping, and bathroom cleaning at a 219-bed long-term care facility. Interest in working with elderly residents; good work references; positive attitude. Institutional/commercial cleaning experience working with high/low speed floor equipment associated with floor refinishing and buffing preferred. Must be able to lift objects weighing over 50 lbs; must pass a criminal conviction background check; must undergo a pre-employment physical exam. $10.31 - $10.93/hr.
