Below is a listing of our current and recently completed long range planning projects.

In December 2017, the City Council approved a moratorium on demolition on Munjoy Hill for six months, in order to allow time for evaluation of the existing zoning and land use tools and propose changes based on staff analysis.

At the same time, the R-6 zoning City-wide in being evaluated for possible changes to the 2015 ordinance.

In February 2018, the Council approved interim zoning to govern new development during the remainder of the moratorium.

There will be two public listening sessions as part of this process.
Those sessions will be a chance for staff and Councilors to hear from the public, developers, land owners, and other stakeholders about their ideas related to growth and change on Munjoy Hill. These listening sessions will be at the East End Community School on the following dates:

Monday, February 26th (held from 7 to 9 pm.)
Visual Preference Survey Results from 2/26 Listening Session
Saturday, March 24th from 11 am. to 1 pm.
