Update on July 10 Weather Event in Portland


Update on the July 10th weather event, which included a severe thunderstorm and microburst in sections of Portland. 

The City of Portland's Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department along with Public Works and Police have been working since last night with four contractor teams to respond to the more than 30 downed trees and hundreds of limbs and branches. Central Maine Power is handling all downed wires and trees that are down with wires.  

Damage assessment is on-going, and anyone who has an issue can report it by visiting

If you see a tree with caution tape around it, please know that crews are aware of it and will be back to safely remove the tree or branches. Residents are asked to please use caution around these areas.
