Portland Fire Celebrates Graduation of Ten New Firefighters


On Saturday, July 28, the Portland Fire Department (PFD) will celebrate the graduation of ten new firefighters known as the class of 2018-25. Their graduation follows a rigorous eight-week advanced fire training drill school. Upon graduation, the graduates will be able to operate city fire apparatus and ambulances, be utilized as interior firefighters, and ensure that PFD and EMS apparatus are staffed with highly skilled medical technicians guaranteeing people in need receive necessary emergency medical treatment as soon as possible. During the ceremony, the new graduates will receive their Portland Fire department badge. Badges will be pinned on by a chosen loved one, a longstanding PFD tradition. 

WHO:  Portland Interim Fire Chief Keith Gautreau will be joined by members of the PFD and City officials as they congratulate the graduates: Jared G. Graham #127, Christopher T. Stiles #193, Daniel P. Verrill #102, Samuel J. Balzano #181, Gregory H. Felstead #237, Spencer J. Bailey #214, Nicholas J. Bue #232, Jacob W. Cole #234, Jesse A. Bieluch #226, and Kelsey M. Cummings #235.
