[ARCHIVED] Road Closures for Marginal Way Area on May 11

On Saturday, May 11, from 6 AM to 12 PM, the intersection of Preble Street Ext and Marginal Way will be closed. Preble Street Ext between Marginal Way and Somerset Street will be closed May 11 from 12 PM until 5 PM.

Traffic on Elm Street will be able to turn right onto Marginal Way towards Franklin Street. Traffic on Preble Street Extension will be able to continue straight to Cumberland Avenue and Congress Street or may turn right onto Marginal Way.

Traffic on Marginal Way west bound from Franklin Street towards Forest Avenue will be able to turn left onto Chestnut Street, turn right onto Kennebec Street, turning left on Hanover to a left onto Marginal Way.

This work is part of the Preble Street Sewer Separation Project to install storm drains along Preble Street. The work is part the City’s efforts to comply with the US EPA and Maine DEP agreements to clean up the Combined Sewer System.
