[ARCHIVED] City Delays New Value Notices for 2020 Revaluation Project

portland news

As the COVID-19 situation continues to unfold, the City has made the decision to delay the Value Change Notices that were scheduled to be sent to all taxpayers in May. Notices will be sent at a future date to be determined.

“Given the unknowns with the current situation and the uncertainty everyone is experiencing, it would not be reasonable or prudent to send new property value notices at this time. We will continue to analyze market data to see what trends emerge as this crisis continues and make necessary adjustments accordingly,” said City Tax Assessor Christopher Huff.

In addition, Governor Mills signed an Executive Order extending the April 1, 2020 deadline to apply for:

  • Homestead Exemptions
  • Veterans Exemptions
  • Renewable Energy Equipment Exemptions
  • Tax Exemptions for Institutions and Organizations
  • Business Equipment Tax Exemptions (BETE)

The new deadline to apply for these is July 1, 2020.
