Get out & EXPLORE what our wonderful parks in Portland have to offer!

Trail Map

The best way to find the trails, parks and open spaces near you is to use the City of Portland Park Finder Map and the Portland Trails Map. Did you know that close to 90% of Portlanders live within a 10 minute walk of a Park or Trail? During these times when Mainers are staying at home to slow the impact of COVID-19, now is a great time to head out to discover the hidden gem in your neighborhood. Since 2017, the City of Portland has signed onto a national initiative from the Trust for Public Land and the National Recreation and Parks Association to work towards a goal of having 100% of residents  within a 10 minute walk of a park or trail. Thanks to the forward-thinking of our predecessors, we are already close to 90% of our residents living within 10 minutes of a park or trail, and the maps created by this project help direct where we make future park improvements and open space acquisitions. In all, we have 1,300 acres of parks and open space, eight miles of multi-use paths maintained by the City (Back Cove, Eastern Prom, Fore River and Bayside Trails), and 40 miles of foot trails built and maintained by our friends at Portland Trails.
